Things that make me go...#%#@#

Pardon the use of symbols in the title of this post.

I am having a hard time deciding what to post on today. Not for lack of ideas - on the contrary I have too many.

I will highlight a couple and then try to make some sort of point. Hang on, it might get bumpy.

First off I was checking out news at the John Birch Society (www.jbs.org) yesterday when I ran across this article. Basically the article states that Sharia Law has been quietly implemented in the United Kingdom. WHAT!?!?! Are you kidding me?? Apparently they are dead serious. Over 100 cases have already been tried in Sharia Courts. In 6 cases of domestic violence the man was reprimanded and told to get counseling. The women dropped the charges and the police dropped the investigations. According to the articles I read on the subject the High Court of the UK will regard the rulings of the Sharia Courts as law as long as both parties entered the court recognizing it as their deciding authority. This is just insane. If you aren't familiar with what Sharia Law is, it is the legal system for Islamic religious law. Many people in the UK are worried it will create a parallel legal system in their country - YA THINK?

That was yesterday. We are all hearing a lot about the elections and about the credit crisis/bailout. So I am trying to tune into the stories that seem to get overlooked, LIKE THIS ONE: In Ecuador they are about the give NATURE the same rights as human beings. WHAT!?!?! Nuf said. Except to make a point with this: Genesis 1:28-30
28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.
29 And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.
30 And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so.

We have been given dominion. That means that we are the masters and not the slaves to nature. We should be responsible no doubt, but we do not worship nature and we do not bow down to it.
